When do I get to riot?

Are there any rules on when or under which circumstances one can riot? Can someone send me a link to the rules? If there are no hard and fast ruled governing the criteria of an authorized riot, I have a question. Is being offended enough?

I try not to get too worked up over the daily insults to my religion by the MSM and popular culture, but the differences between the reaction of Christians and Muslims should give you a good insight into both religions.

Remember the great Christian riots over the 'piss Christ' display by Andres Serrano? That was a hoot. We burned down Washington's Corcoran Gallery and demanded that all anti-Christian images be banned from public display, I still have the t-shirt from that riot. What about last weekend when we burned down the RollingStone magazine offices in New York in retaliation for the Kanye West cover depicting the overhyped singer as Christ. I still can get the smell of smoke washed off my jeans.

I just finish watching FNS and Britt Hume had a great point about the Muslim riots. Are the Imams that stirred up the Arab street outraged by the slaughter of innocent men, women and children across the globe by other Muslims? Not at all, they choose to be outraged by these cartoons.

Ankle biting Pundits has a great post on this as well.
If you are one of those Muslims that is rioting and setting embassies ablaze because of some Danish cartoons depicting Allah is a terrorist I just want to let you know that you are all "bleeping" insane nutcases that the world would likely be better off without. Perhaps you all should use your energy to coming out of the stone age, teaching your women to read and drive, and aspiring to something other than getting 72 virgins in exchange for blowing infidels to bits.

Hey, if you're offended by the cartoons, get over it. Does it suck to be offended? Sure, the first reaction that sane people have to getting offended isn't to kill people and destroy things. And keep in mind you're getting worked up into homicidal rage - BY FRIGGIN CARTOONS!!!! For any of you who say there's no difference between their culture and our own, keep in mind this is all happening because of FRIGGIN CARTOONS!!!

I hope those from the 'all religions are the same' crowd are watching. Unless I see a huge counter protest by what I hope would be mainstream Muslims against these nutjob rioters, I can not help but conclude that this 'Religion of Peace" line is just happy talk.

You are right on on this one to be sure. One could conclude the first rule you are likely to find, if you find the rules is to be Muslim.

I too am waiting for the main stream Muslims to speak out against this, and either I am looking in the wrong place, or they are silent.

Notice too that the depiction of Jews in by people in this part of the world is worse than anything depicted in the Danish news. I am grateful at least that the cartoons were depicted in the Danish, not the US papers.

There needs to be a reformation in the Muslim faith. Like the Christian Church before the reformation, Islam wields too much power and uses it at times for corrupt purposes.

The radical Imams claiming to know God's will encourage this crazy inconsistant behavior in their zeal to recreate the religious theocracies of the year 1200.

Thank God for America, thank God for religious freedom, and thank God for the separation between church and State.

These tantrums are enabled by enlightened western governments and MSM and the morphing of marxist thinking into culture.

SactoDan is 100% correct that there needs to be a reformation in Islam. The problem, however, is that it is so decentralized and diverse, there is no one leader of the religion and how would one choose the mosque to which to appent the 95 theses.

Just to set the record straight, nowhere in the Quran does it say there are 72 virgins in heaven. Indeed, there is no number and the word that is often translated to virgins -- "hawari" -- has multiple meanings. Some moron made that statement and the world media followed along and it's outright b.s.

Also, with respect to the comments of mainstream Islam, there are many who have condemned the riots. It is a shame the corporate media does not highlight them, but that is probably because it doesn't reinforce stereotypes and it makes better ratings to play to peoples' prejudices. Here's what the Lebanese parliament majority leader said -

"True Muslims feel ashamed of what happened today." They went to a demonstration of peace, but some little-minded people and criminals caused the trouble. We will not let them do this again because we Muslims and Christians are one people and we will do everything to protect this country."
