Tax revenue up again - damn those Bush tax cuts!

Good news for the nation and the GOP is hard to find unless your looking for it. I must give kudos to the New York Times, I know for me the Times basher giving praise to the grey lady is a rare thing, but they did publish a this story on the US news page as the sixth story just behind small colleges short of men turning to football to get more students. I couldn't find it at all on the Washington Post home page.

An unexpectedly steep rise in tax revenues from corporations and the wealthy is driving down the projected budget deficit this year, even though spending has climbed sharply because of the war in Iraq and the cost of hurricane relief.

I wonder if Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi are drowning their sorrows tonight.

Nancy, if only the economy would crash and put a million or two people out of work, we might have a chance at taking back the House. Your right Howard, and a huge insurgent attack right before the election on one of our bases in Iraq wouldn't hurt either.
