Hello Yolo Cowboy. I'm from West Sacramento and looking for a place to do some varmint hunting. It would be especially easy for me if it was in Yolo County. Sorry to ask about this on your "California ballot propositions 2008" post, but I could find no other way of contacting you. Do you know of any good places or have any posts that discuss this? Thanks in advance.
Jeeps, the only place around Yolo County for critter shooting is the BLM ground up Highway 16 near Highway 20. The 'low water bridge' area is one of the only dirt roads you can use to access the area, but its closed in the winter.
The Payne Ranch is closed to motorized access but is a great place to take a hike and spend the day shooting. The Cowboy Camp parking area is open, but as all good shooters know, public land open to everyone, horse riders, hikers, bird watchers ect. Please use extreme caution when shooting on public land, even if you haven't seen anyone all day doesn't mean your alone.
You may find "Walker Ridge road open as well, it has access to a lot of BLM land, but its just over the border in Lake county.

I am voting no on everything.
What has always frightened me is how many people, seeing a ballot proposition they don't understand, will vote Yes for that very reason.
I want to get those people's phone numbers and start asking them for their ATM card PINs and their bank website passwords.
